PARENTS & COMMUNITY SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME
Projects Description & Challenges facing the average Wajir children.
This project will enhance, coordinate and facilitate parents and community to provide support to school management to increase enrollment and improve learning outcome.
In Kenya children have constitutional rights to free basic education & decent live, in Wajir children are not enjoying this right yet. UN sustainable dev’t goal 4: obtaining a quality edu. is the foundation to improving people’s live & sustained dev’t. Gov’t is working hard to ensure 100% enrollment but 45% are still out of school. How do we assist gov’t & stakeholders to enroll, retain and transit 100%. We want to the bridge this gab which can’t be achieved by gov’t, achieve SDGs, help improve.
Solution & Long Term Impact of the Project in Wajir and other marginalized communities in North Eastern Kenya
By creating awareness among the community who haven’t encouraged their children to enroll in schools or those withdrawing the children from schools after enrollment. The rationale of this project is to motivate, enrich and create self-enthusiasm among them so that they encourage, support & sustain their children go to school & transit to other next levels. Consequently, the enrollment, retention & transition can be attained at 100% of the targeted potential group. Out of work to school campaign.
LONG TERM IMPACT
Ethnic conflicts would be reduced, economic well-fair & living standards would be improved, the parents would be motivated to undertake alternative sources of income other than child labour, including setting up small enterprises that can be used to expand trade across the boundaries and that will create long lasting peace and stability. illiteracy level would be improved and the people would be made aware of what is happening in other parts of the world so to improve behavior & conduct.
